Waiting Is the Hardest Part

I am the best junior at my school. At least, that’s what the Awards Committee decided. Yay! I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new plaque with my REAL name on it (and the real name of the sorority who gives the award). Yes, that’s right … my plaque had not one but TWO typos on it. An l was left out of “Alpha,” and my last name was inexplicably changed to Jones. My last name isn’t even close to Jones, so don’t even ask me how that happened.

Good Friday is two days from today. We don’t have class, so should I be a faithful intern and go, or should I pull the “We don’t have classes today” card? I went on another day we didn’t have classes … I should go, right?

Speaking of Good Friday, I love Easter and the celebration of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ and the pretty weather and everything about it. Is it wrong for me to include the overwhelming urge to watch Chocolat and jelly beans as part of my favorite things about Easter? Is that sacrilege? Because Chocolat is amazing, and I really do love jelly beans, especially Jelly Belly and Starburst, but I am pretty sure Starburst puts more grape ones in than any other flavor. Purple is my favorite color, but could they put in more cherry or orange or lemon? I think this must be a conspiracy.

Hmm … come to think of it, this is the perfect time to watch (or read — the book is equally wonderful) Chocolat. I wonder if my French professor could be persuaded to let us finish Un long dimanche de fiançailles (A Very Long Engagement) and start Chocolat today?
