First of all, it is important to note that I am updating this from the comfort of my school’s computer lab. There’s really nothing like walking across campus to check e-mail. Oh, well. It’s extra exercise, and sometimes I get a glimpse of people who are still in town this summer … like the people who work in Student Development. That’s actually about it as far as people go; Jackson is a veritable ghost town this time of year.
Summer registration went off without a hitch last weekend. I am more than impressed with the Orientation team — not to mention the amazing incoming class. I feel really good about my senior year now, even though I am still having a hard time admitting that that’s what this year actually is. We just won’t talk about that now, though.
In other news, I dropped my cell phone in the parking lot on my way to a meeting on Thursday, and it broke in half. My parents sent me a replacement phone, and I am loving communicating with people again. How is it that I went an entire semester of college without a cell phone, and I can’t manage a weekend without one? What a weird dependency.
To finish things off, I would like to brag a little bit. I went shopping this weekend — completely unnecessary but definitely worth it — and spent less than sixty-five dollars on the following items: two shirts from Old Navy, one shirt from Rue 21, one shirt from Ross, two pairs of shoes from Payless, and a Ralph Lauren comforter from Ross. And the best part? Unlike most shopping trips, I do not feel the slightest bit of guilt for spending money.
I guess that’s all for now … expect more updates from the lab soon ;).
