What I Did Over Christmas Break

Here’s a list:

- Drove between six and seven hours to be with my family for the holidays
- Slept at least ten hours almost every night
- Baked twenty dozen cookies
- Walked thirty to forty-five minutes every day (minus four days)
- Succumbed to the PR tricks of Matt Nathanson — and loved it
- Discovered the joy of Josh Ritter, thanks to an old friend
- Somehow learned all the words to “A Big Hunk o’ Love” (Yes, the Elvis song)
- Drove four hours for the wedding of two of my friends
- Drove another forty-five minutes to be with three of my favorite sisters for lunch
- Did some Christmas shopping
- Read a lot
- Watched all three seasons of Arrested Development
-
Watched almost a complete season of Lost (Season Three)
- Got almost completely caught up with Grey’s Anatomy
-
Watched a lot of movies
- Sampled fine Cajun-Creole and Peruvian cuisine — on separate occasions
- Had a merry Christmas!
- Loved being with my family
- Hated cold weather
- Missed my home in Tennessee and all my friends there
- Got a haircut
- Felt conflicted about starting my last semester
- Cried
- Stayed up too late
- Did laundry
- Started packing (I suppose I should finish the job, huh?)
- Planned on missing my family insanely upon leaving tomorrow
- Looked forward to the triumphant return of my treadmill time
