I don’t want to be one of those bitter girls who’s like, “Valentine’s Day is full of meaningless commercialism” and all that, but not having a boyfriend on Valentine’s Day definitely makes you realize that this particular holiday was created for people in relationships, not for people who are single.
But on the bright side, if you can’t be with a boy, you should be with your girls … so I spent the night with some of my amazing sorority sisters and watched our basketball teams play Union, where I felt very conflicted. Is it appropriate to cheer for your team to win if the other team’s school got hit by a tornado? Should you want the other team to win because they have to live in a hotel instead of dorms? Hard to say.
