Iron Woman

I think I am iron deficient.  It makes perfect sense.  According to this website, symptoms of iron deficiency include being easily irritable, having a rapid heart rate, being tired all of the time, and having a short attention span.  That explains so much!  Perhaps I should consult my physician.

Because of this increased attention to my iron level, I have been eating iron rich foods (which includes oatmeal, which is perfect because oatmeal is my favorite breakfast food), accompanied by Vitamin C.  Apparently, Vitamin C promotes the absorption of iron in your body.  I’m glad we have an abundance of cranberry juice in my house.

On the subject of cranberry juice, just throwing this out there:  I don’t think cranberry juice is good for anything BUT Vitamin C.  Eight ounces of cranberry juice cocktail provides all the Vitamin C you need.  And 130 calories.  And a lot of sugar.  But seriously, who would drink cranberry juice without sugar?  Ocean Spray is onto something.

Sadly, self-diagnosing myself with iron deficiency is the most exciting thing to happen this whole weekend.  I live a life too glamorous for words.
