Oh, Quarter-Life Crisis, I have abandoned you these past few days. I’m so sorry.
The last time we spoke, my Memphis Tigers had just lost the NCAA Championship. I am still so totally not wanting to talk about it, but that’s a different story for a different day. I am grudge-y. Since then, I have been to Memphis TWICE and was very excited to see that the city was still standing. And I got to eat at Huey’s and watch one of my sisters try to master the art of shooting the toothpick into the ceiling, so there’s that. The second time was considerably more awesome, though. Two of my pretty sisters and I drove all the way to Memphis for a concert (which was ah-mazing). It seems ridiculously impractical to drive an hour both ways for two hours, but I am graduating in twenty days, and I will be ridiculously impractical if I want to, thank you very much. Also, it was totally worth it and going to happen again Tuesday, and I cannot wait.
Also since we last spoke, I was named Best Senior in my sorority. Pretty darn impressive for a girl who’s only been in since she was a junior, huh? I guess I took my Best New Member award pretty seriously :). I’m so honored; my sisters are my family here in Jackson, and their love has never ceased to amaze me. Out of all eleven seniors, they picked me, and that makes me feel good. And proud, of course.
And also, I went on a job interview. It can be summed up in one word: abysmal. The interview deserves a separate post, so be on the look out for that one. Should be interesting.
And even more also, I lost my keys and can’t find them ANYWHERE. Y’all pray to Saint Anthony for me. I need all the help I can get because I think they mysteriously disappeared. This is very frustrating. I kind of need to be able to get in my house and go to my internship and get in my house and run errands and GET IN MY HOUSE. I am thankful for having a roommate … and living in a house to which many have keys. Where do you even get a key made? Do they do that at Wal Mart?
On a brighter note, my sister has the extra set of my keys, and she’s sending them to me. And I am currently in possession of my ex-boyfriend’s car because as it turns out, the emergency key for my car doesn’t so much work as much as set off the alarm. Cute.
So that’s what’s been going on. Keep your fingers crossed that I find my keys ’cause not having them is getting old. Y’all be good … and enjoy the weather! I hope it’s as beautiful where you are as where I am, even though it makes me want to just sit outside instead of doing anything productive. Different story for a different day.
