In my many hours spent perusing Career Builder, Hot Jobs, and Monster, I keep seeing the same job postings. One of them is for teaching English to South Korean students who’ve had English classes since kindergarten or something like that. As weird as it sounds, I’m seriously considering it.
I mean, think about it. I’m not doing anything with my life right now. Granted, I just graduated college on Sunday, but I’ve been looking for jobs all semester. I’m not dating anyone, so there’s really no one I’d be leaving behind — besides my family, but I was away all four years of college; I’m pretty sure they’re used to it. And it’s not like I’m not qualified! I do speak English and think I could probably handle teaching small groups of people conversational English.
The only real problem is this accent of mine. Should a girl who’s spent the past four years of her life in West Tennessee really be reaching South Koreans English?
