Hello, August

I can’t believe it’s August already, but I’m glad it is.  This summer has been exceptionally uninteresting (with the exception of two too-brief visits to Jackson and the Louisville incident), and I am ready for everything to end.  I need a new beginning.  Fortunately, I’m getting one … and soon.

In other news, can someone explain why Career Builder chooses to send me job alerts for jobs I am seriously unqualified for?  You have my resume, Career Builder.  I have told you in what areas I have actual job experience, and in case you hadn’t noticed, those things are not in the healthcare industry.  Sorry, but I’m just not a registered nurse or an occupational therapist.

Also, earlier this summer, I borrowed the first and second seasons of The Office on DVD from my sister.  One of the special features on the second season is fake “The More You Know” spots featuring the different Office characters.  There’s one of Jim, and he says, “I accidentally saw The Fugitive again on cable this weekend.  That is a really good movie.”  It seemed so random the first time I saw it, but then I realized that happens in real life.  Even better, it totally happened last night.  I got sucked into Boys on the Side on WE last night.  I don’t even like chick flicks (or the word “chick” in reference to females, actually), but I always, always, always get sucked into it when it’s on TV.  Mary-Louise Parker, you’re a crafty one.

For the record, that may be one of the most embarrassing things I’ve admitted to on this blog, yet somehow, I am not ashamed.
