While employment has its obvious advantages, most notably the regular paychecks, it also has some disadvantages. Those disadvantages mostly relate to having a limited amount of free time, which explains the lack of blogging. On the bright side, work is good. My coworkers are pretty fabulous, and even though we’ve been busy, busy, busy, everything is going swimmingly! I leave tomorrow for my first week of travel. I’ll be the northwestern corner of Alabama, so if any of y’all know of anything to do there that’s not just sitting in the Days Inn and watching reruns of The Fresh Prince, please let me know.
In other news, I am typing this entry on my brand new laptop! It’s my second big girl purchase (The first was my cute little Satty Satty Boo Boo Bear.), and I’m in love with it. I woke up this morning and headed straight to Best Buy to take it home with me, mostly because I was nervous they would run out. It takes away the sadness I felt when I had to leave my poor little desktop at my parents’ house, and I feel like it was a majorly practical decision, what with the over eighty percent of travel I will be doing through, oh, Thanksgiving. And, of course, the most fun part of having a laptop is getting to have this as its little home :).
Let’s see … what else has happened? I worked almost twelve hours on Friday (which meant that I had to cancel plans to go see Matt Wertz and Gavin DeGraw in Memphis, and I was very sad), I got my hair chopped off on Thursday, I drank coffee without any repercussions on Wednesday, and the boys in the fraternity I used to hang out with got the most boys on their Bid Day. AND because our first assignments for work end on Friday, I can actually be in Jackson for part of my sorority’s Recruitment, including our Bid Day.
Sadly, this is all the news I have. Wish me luck in my travels and recruiting adventures in Alabama — stay tuned for some stories. I’m sure I’ll have them.
