For the Record, I Say I’m NOT.

I did a few high school visits in Indianapolis today.  I went to high school up here, and after four years of living in Jackson, no one believes me.  More often than I was asked where Jackson is, I was asked the following question:  Wait … you’re from Indiana?

No, I’m not from Indiana.  I lived here.  My parents still do.  I do not.  And I’m really sorry about where I went to high school.

Tomorrow will necessitate more apologies, as I am going to my former high school’s biggest rival.  I am also visiting my former high school … should be sufficiently interesting.  So far, though, the response has been very positive.  Like so many other guidance counselors, everyone I spoke with today were so excited about another option for their students, and students were just interested in something outside of Indiana.  Can’t say I blame them.

Well, I’m off to bed.  The weather has been ugly today, and all I’ve wanted to do is crawl into bed and sleep.  Fortunately, I’ve been totally productive today, so please believe I will use that to justify some serious napping tomorrow afternoon.
