Fun Fact Wednesday?

This marks another week in which I forget what day it is.  Anyway, here you go:

1.  I didn’t know it was possible to love somewhere as much as I love my alma mater.  Even on days when I am stressed out and frustrated and tired of working, there is something almost magical about pulling into the driveway in front of my school or looking out my office window and seeing the whole quad.  I knew from the second I set foot on campus that my college was home, and I’m so blessed that that feeling hasn’t gone away.

2.  As much as I love my job, I do have days where I want to quit.  It’s mostly because we’re a bit shorthanded in my office, so we all have lots of work to do.  We’re stretched pretty thin these days, and it’s frustrating sometimes.  It’s also frustrating being new to all of this and having to figure out things.  There are days when I feel like I’m learning things the hard way, but at the end of the day, all of the challenges and problems and mistakes have really made me stronger and better, so I’m thankful.  Also, there are way more days that are awesome and perfect than there are days that suck.  And honestly?  I just really love my job.  The bad days help me learn, and the good ones keep everything in perspective.  Life is good.

3.  My alma mater’s women’s basketball team made it to NAIA National Championships for the second time in three years.  We lost to our biggest rival in a really intense game, but it was a great game, and it was a great opportunity.  I’m losing my voice from screaming so much, but it was totally worth it.  I’m so proud of our girls and am so glad the whole campus could get behind them and support them like we’ve done during this whole thing.  Also, I’m pretty sure our basketball team is way classier and has better sportsmanship skills than theirs does.  I’m just sayin.
