Fun Fact Tuesday returns to Tuesday!
1. I’m not a hypochondriac or prone to self-diagnosing diseases, but I often have ridiculous thoughts about my health. I have a super healthy immune system and rarely (knock on wood) get noticeably, inconveniently sick. However, two or more consecutive days of headaches? Weird cramps? The worst-case scenario sneaks into my mind. It is forgotten just as quickly, though.
2. I have resolved to work on my French. The only time I use it is when I see one of the foreign language professors. Oddly, it’s not the French professor; it’s one of the Spanish professors who also studied French at a doctorate level and somehow discovered that I speak French. I didn’t expect her to remember me or our two or three conversations about Chicoutimi, but she does. Magnifique!
3. I’m a pretty anxious person. If something bad happens, I tend to think about all my options or what I would do differently, which leads to overthinking, which leads to stressing out. It’s a terrible, vicious cycle. The only way I can combat it is talking about it — whether it’s praying or talking to my parents or one of my sorority sisters or friends, I just have to talk things out — and reading the Bible. Luke 6:21 and Luke 12:22 – 34 will do it every time.
