More fun facts … with a theme: my name!
1. Allie is short for Allison. When I was younger, I always hated the name Allison because it was so popular at my high school, and the majority of them were blonde and kind of stupid. I didn’t want to be associated with that.
2. I did, however, go by Allison in elementary school because I was too shy to tell my teachers EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD called me Allie. I guess middle school made me a little more courageous, but there were still times when I just let people call me Allison. And yes, even though it’s hard to believe now, I was terribly shy and quiet as a child … or, you know, through high school.
3. When I came to college, no one believed that my name is actually Allison. Everyone knows me as Allie. I wouldn’t have it any other way, though. While I haven’t always liked the name Allison, I don’t think I could be anything but Allie.
