I try to avoid eating out at lunch. The majority of the restaurants in Jackson are grouped together, and trying to get anywhere near that area of town from eleven to one on a weekday is insane. However, I woke up this morning and realized I had two more free sandwich coupons for Chik-fil-A (the actual restaurant, not the one in the mall), so I decided today was the day to break my habit of going home for lunch.
The traffic wasn’t terrible, so I was encouraged that Chik-fil-A would be fine. Nope. I have to wait at least five minutes to turn into the parking lot. While waiting, I notice that a police officer is directing traffic. To get into Chik-fil-A. No kidding.
The drive-through line is wrapped all the way around the building, so I decide to go in. Even though the girl messed up my order, I was still out sooner than the cars in the drive-through. Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of the drive-through? Isn’t it supposed to be more convenient than fending off small children hopped up on Ice Dream and private school kids who get to leave for lunch? Clearly not.
I never cease to be amazed at the things I deal with for free chicken sandwiches and free refills of Coke Zero.
