A little Bon Jovi, anyone? Let’s celebrate drunken karaoke style. For the next twenty-four minutes, it’s my half birthday. I am officially halfway to twenty-three, and I can’t wait!
I’m not usually one to celebrate ridiculous things like half birthdays, but so far, twenty-two has provided very few reasons to celebrate. Crappy things have happened this year, particularly as of late, and I’m ready to focus on the positive things.
The past six months may not have been the best six months of my life, but the next six are going to be so much better. Even though not having a job was not on the top of my list of things to do this year, I’m sure that this is some sort of blessing. The right job — a better, more fun, higher paying, less stressful job — is right around the corner. Other good things are bound to happen. I have lots of faith.
So you know what? A half birthday isn’t a real birthday, but darn it, I’m gonna celebrate what I want. Life is too short not to do things the way you want. Starting now, everything is a reason to celebrate … and yes, that means everything is a reason to have cake.
